Do you remember your first car…? How about your last..? What if your current car was your last…?
My Last Car is an interactive touring exhibition and live performance that looks at our complicated relationship with the motor car, alongside a community programme that celebrates ‘getting around without a car’. Featuring specially created video and a motor-soundscape, the heart of the project is the secret interior of a Rover 216 Cabriolet, lovingly disassembled and transformed into a gallery exhibition, created by communities and animated with live performance and digital display.
The exhibition at Ryedale Folk Museum will include work by local young people and a film installation of My Last Tractor from 30th July – 5th August in the grounds of the museum.
For performance times and tickets please see www.mylastcar.co.uk.
My Last Car is written by Sarah Woods, directed by Alan Dix, designed by Steve Gumbley and Bryan Tweddle; digital design my Shanaz Gulzar.
The Yorkshire leg of My Last Car’s journey is a collaboration between imove, 509 Arts, Warwick Arts Centre, Pioneer Projects and Ryedale Folk Museum.
