The Hungarian Culture and Heritage Society (HC&HS) is a small charity (founded in March, 2011) that works actively to introduce Hungarian Culture and Heritage in the UK, promote the preservation of heritage, language and culture of all Hungarian speaking people and those of Hungarian ancestry, and promote unity, cooperation and goodwill between all Hungarian speaking organizations and individuals in the UK.
Our aim is to build a strong community and help people to understand each other’s culture and heritage. HC&HS raises funds through various charity events that it conducts throughout the year. These funds are then used to hold various events again. This year HC&HS organized two successful Archery days in Gayhurst. As this event was so welcomed and got a good feedback from the community, we established an Archery Club in July, which has a growing number of members.
Hungarian Culture and Heritage Society was a co-organizer of The Ealing Autumn Festival 15-30 of October. The festival was dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the birth of Ferenc Liszt, Hungarian composer and pianist. Our Hungarian weekends were filled with arts, crafts, and gourmet treats from Hungary. We also played tribute for the 1956’s Hungarian revolution. The festival was definitely a great experience. We met great people and built promising relationships over the festival, leading to the future’s projects. That inspires us to organize more Hungarian events in the future.
HC&HS is taking part in many Christmas fairs and Hungarian Cultural events during the festive period in December.
