London Transport Museum is a great place to discover the UK’s transport heritage. From exhibitions and hands on galleries to guided tours and events there is always something exciting happening.
This month the museum is celebrating the works of children’s book author and illustrator, John Burningham whose career started with a poster commission from London Transport in 1960. You can see displays of his posters, join him for a special book signing event and take part in a new Flickr photographic competition inspired by Burningham’s new poster artwork Children’s London.
Children and adults are invited to take photographs on the theme of children’s London and submit them to the Museum’s Flickr site so that they can be displayed alongside the Burningham poster display. Whether it’s a photograph that represents a child’s experience of the Capital or a snapshot that captures London’s playful nature, they would love you to share it. Entries welcome until 1 December 2011. The three photographs with the most views and comments will win a signed copy of Burningham’s new book plus a free entry ticket for two people. The Museum will contact the three winners via Flickr.

Happy discovering and drawing!
