Fancy having a go at shaping the way your local area looks and feels?

In a tiny island like the UK, not only should open green spaces be treasured and cared for, but they should also work for us and serve our communities’ needs. This is the thinking behind Groundwork South West’s campaigns, which aim to improve south-west England’s open spaces, engage young people in community projects, and help volunteers gain new skills and employment opportunities.

From designing new gardens (like the City Jigsaw Garden in Plymouth) to developing sports fields, Groundwork South West work with local community groups, businesses and councils to create open spaces that respond to local people’s needs and their aspirations for the area where they live.

If you’d like to find out more about Groundwork or would like to set up your own open space project, then visit their website and get planning!
