Inspired to get your hands dirty this weekend? How about lending a hand at one of your local farms or community gardens? The Donate A Day campaign (organised by the Federation of City Farms & Community Gardens, who kindly blogged for us earlier this week) is a great way to get in touch with your rural roots and meet new people that also feel passionate about taking part in community life. Don your most fashionable wellies and waterproofs and head down with family and friends this weekend to meet the animals and plant some organic veggies! Volunteering your time will not only help the veg and flowers grow, but also your family and community.
If you want to volunteer at one of these special green spaces, then “donate a day” to help out down on the farm or in the vegetable patch. Details can be found on the Federation of City Farms & Community Gardens website.
