It’s March!  This month has arrived very quickly and I put that down to being so busy!  But I think this year will redefine ‘busy’ for all of us.  With so much happening across the UK in the lead up to and during the Olympic and Paralympic Games, and much of it free, it’s going to be hard not to be busy.  There is no better example to illustrate this than Music Nation.  An extraordinary weekend of music led by the BBC which will unite orchestras, musical groups, choirs and concert halls all over the UK – and it happens this weekend!  You can find out more on the London 2012 Festival website but we have picked out a few highlights, and their blog posts are coming thick and fast over the next couple of days so stay tuned and keep coming back.

Many of the Music Nation events take the location and heritage of the site as the inspiration.  Bringing together a collaboration of amateur and professional, local and international musicians, artists, performers, crafts people, and even the local clergy, it really does start the beginning of an extraordinary year for us all.

So it makes sense that our call to action and the conversation we want to start this week focus on MUSIC.  Head out and discover the UK’s Music Nation events and tell us about it on here, on or (@DiscoverDP).  We also want to hear about the music that reminds you of a place, that has transformed a place, or evokes the spirit of the place.

Have a wonderful, musical and busy time this weekend!
