Well as the London 2012 Games and the Discovering Places project comes to an end, I think its appropriate, that the last weekend is one of endless opportunities to join in, take part and discover.  Heritage Open Days has joined with London 2012 to make sure there is plenty of things to do this coming weekend and your challenge is to see just how much you can fit in.

With over 4,600 events registered as part of Heritage Open Days in England alone and even more events happening in Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales you are spoiled for choice and there is no excuse for you not to go out and discover your local historic environment.

We want to hear from you on what you are planning to do and your suggestions on where people should go.  We’ll be posting blog posts from Heritage Open Days organisers all week.

If you are in the Stoke Mandeville/Aylesbury area then do go and visit the Path to the Paralympic Games: From Stoke Mandeville to the London 2012 Paralympic Games Exhibition.  The exhibition is at Lady Guttmann Bowls Centre, Stoke Mandeville Stadium, Guttmann Road, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire HP21 9PP and is open until Sunday 16th September.  Discovering Places worked with Wheelpower and Buckinghamshire County Council to help make the exhibition happen.  You can also find out more about the history of the Paralympic on the Mandeville Legacy website.

No excuses, 100’s of options, join in and discover somewhere new.
